Pop Up workshop at Hoping elementary school

 

Last week Irene Pascual and me were invited Haoyi Chen, to spend some days in the Hoping Elementary school in Chengong, where we also gave a 2 days Pop Up workshop. For the school it was the beginning of a series of visiting artists.

The school is situated on the East cost of Taiwan, in Taitung County, and visisted by 26 children in the age from 4 to 12 years that a part of aboriginal community.

Around 2% of Taiwans population are aborigines. There are 14 different tribes, that have diferent traditions and languages. The Ami tribe, which is the one in Chengong, is the biggest indigenious community. 

 

The workshop was a great success with wonderful children, interesting ideas and good support by the staff and so after two days 26 emerging artists were born! We will remind this beautiful experience!
